My first stop was Singapore. After a long grueling 2 day trip I arrived at the airport and headed to my hostel. The weather was beyond hot and much more than my pale complexion and British origin could cope with it was sticky and sweaty! I arrived at my hostel with utter shock when I arrived in a room of 5 bunk beds sharing with 9 other men. I thought I was open to the travelling hostel life but I was really thrown into the deep end. I ventured out to the local shop to get some food and then very quickly drifted off to sleep.
Ok ok, I know I'm not writing a novel so i'll try and keep it short.
Day one consisted of visiting the botanical gardens, it was beautiful and huge the best part was the orchid garden, just as I dreamed of an Asian country where orchids were of and abundance. We saw lots of wildlife and some extremely large lizards!
In the evening we headed over to Singapore's famous Marina Bay. It puts on a daily light show in the evening which was spectacular and amazing to watch, we found a little place just opposite and viewed it from there. On the walk back to see the famous symbol of Singapore - the Merlion we stumbled upon an outdoor Amphitheater where there were locals performing on the drums and singing. The atmosphere was amazing and it was lovely to sit and enjoy some music whilst soaking up all my thoughts from the day.
The following days were just as chaotic and jam packed. We went to Sentosa Island and spent a little time on the beach there. We also visited the Sri Mariamman Temple, Chinatown - full of all its interesting delights and finally the Spectacular Gardens by the Bay located on the marina.
Next stop was Kuala Lumpur and on the overnight train we went...
